David C. Winters

David C. Winters has more than thirty years experience in criminal and civil litigation. Upon graduation from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, he began as a felony prosecutor in Franklin County — successfully prosecuting more than 100 cases before juries. He then established his own criminal defense practice, in which he has defended nearly 100 criminal jury trials in state and federal courts. David has lectured throughout Ohio at criminal and trial practice seminars, and has taught Trial Practice at The Moritz College of Law as an Adjunct Professor since 1999.

As a defense attorney David has represented a diverse clientele, including lawyers, doctors, accountants, corporations, and corporate executives in white collar criminal matters. David has defended companies and individuals in Grand Jury and regulatory investigations for corporations, from the perspective of the corporation, the board of directors, the corporate officer, and the employee.

David's experience representing companies and corporate officials in complex criminal investigations and trials, and in parallel administrative proceedings, has involved allegations of banking crimes, insider trading, government procurement contract fraud, securities fraud, mail and wire fraud, money laundering, violations of the export laws, tax offenses, accounting fraud and irregularities, environmental offenses, insurance fraud, and obstruction of justice.

While his white collar and corporate investigations practice responds to the government's increased focus on the actions of corporate executives and boards of directors, David continues to handle a docket of tradtional state and federal felony and misdemeanor defense cases.
