Scott J. Stitt

Scott J. Stitt is a litigation attorney focused on employee benefit claims arising under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 ("ERISA"). He is one of the most recognized ERISA attorneys in Ohio and a frequent speaker locally as well as hosting the ERISA Group on LinkedIn, which has 500-plus members.

Scott has been named by Ohio SuperLawyers as an "Ohio Rising Star" in 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Scott represents corporations, fiduciaries, physicians and medical practice groups, and individuals in a variety general business and commercial litigation matters, including ERISA, and:

• Claims for breach of contract
• Breach of fiduciary duty
• Misappropriation of trade secrets
• Fraud

Scott's ERISA practice includes ERISA criminal and civil disputes, including DOL and IRS audits and investigations.

Scott is a frequent speaker on business litigation and employee benefits topics, and has been the course planner for the Ohio State Bar Association's ERISA continuing legal education seminar in 2009 and 2010, and its Business Litigation seminar in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012.

Scott has spoken before The ESOP Association's Ohio/Kentucky and Indiana Chapters, as the keynote speaker for the Central Ohio Chapter of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists (ISCEBS)'s 25th Annual Meeting, and the Columbus and Ohio State Bar Associations, among other groups.

In 2009, Columbus Business First named Scott to its prestigious "Forty Under 40" list, "recognizing players in the business community under the age of 40, who show professional drive and community involvement."
